BE SACRIFICIAL - Pt One
Psalms 50:5 “Bring my faithful people to me— those who made a covenant with me by giving sacrifices.”
The word sacrifice in Hebrew is "zevach" or "zabach". However, If we look at that word sacrifice it does not necessarily mean bring a burnt offering or a gift to an idol or wood or stone as we tend consider a sacrifice. The word zavach actually have an idea of giving up what is close to your heart to have a relationship with God.
This what Apostle Peter was discussing with Jesus when the young rich ruler came to ask about salvation. This will help you understand the term of this sacrifice even in the new testament. Apostle Paul referred to us as a living sacrifice and as such we must present our bodies.
Mark 10:28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
There is nothing you sacrifice to have a better walk with the Lord that will not yield harvest of grace and glory. Some. People its their sleep they need to give up, others it is trusting God with their finances, some they cherish their relationship more than the things of God. What are you sacrificing?
Prayers
Confession: I declare that the Lord take the foremost place in my life. I do not regard worthless idol in my heart or life in Jesus Name.
