1 Corinthians 13:1If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

The very nature of God is love,  every child of God has this nature in them.  Unfortunately,  most believers don't acknowledge this nature. You must believe,  acknowledge and declare  the same. Through the eternal sacrifice of Christ, now you possess all of God's nature. This is the truth, your life is not different from that of Christ.  Paul declared it this way, "the life that I live now in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God."

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

This life enables us to live a life of love, expressing it to others.  Our understanding of God's love for us is the foundation of our empowerment to walk in love towards others. 

1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 19 We love Him, because He first loved us.

God's love has now been shed abroad in us by the Holy Spirit so that we can express the same to our dying world.
