Luke 1:8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course.

Zechariah was a priest but there was no result in his life to prove that he's God's servant. The challenge of his life was that his wife was barren and they were getting old, his wife had entered menopause. Their matter seems hopeless, but he kept serving.

There are times we would look all around and will look like your stewardship has no reward. There are people serving for different reasons, but we serve a living God because He deserves it first. Secondly we serve Him because He rewards those who serve Him diligently.

However, the key to effective service is rooted in understanding. The first is knowing that I am loved by Him, the second is recognising that we are steward of His manifold grace. We serve because we know we would give account of the talents He has given to us.

Zechariah was a great steward, serving, not because he want God to bless Him but as a matter of duty and was faithful. By the time God remembered him, it was glorious, he gave birth to a national transformation agent of his time, he was the one who created passage for the Lord Jesus.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
