DEAD TO OLD-SELF

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, the old self is dead and now there is a new life through Christ Jesus. This is important to note and understand clearly. The life we have in Christ is absolutely brand new. Though it may seem as if everything is still the same, but there is an invisible change within that has the capacity to manifest a new nature.

The major challenge with many of us is that we don't always acknowledge the newness of our life in Christ. Philemon 1:6 says: that the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

The more you become dead to self in your mind the more you will experience His glory. Paul in the opening scripture says "knowing this, that our old man is dead..." This means that you can be born again and not know this. If you don't know it in your consciousness you may still be serving sin.

Always walk in the consciousness of your new nature, remind yourself daily that the life I have now is superior to sin, not a slave but a master. Romans 6:11 So let it be the same way with you! Since you are now joined with Him, you must continually view yourself as dead and unresponsive to sin’s appeal while living daily for God’s pleasure in union with Jesus, the Anointed One.

The Bloodline of a Victor

1 John 5:4-5 NKJV For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. [5] Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
