BITTERNESS DESTROYS - Pt Three
Hebrews 12:15 Watch over each other to make sure that no one misses the revelation of God’s grace. And make sure no one lives with a root of bitterness sprouting within them which will only cause trouble and poison the hearts of many.
One of the ways to get bitterness out of your life and your relationships is by walking in love towards all men. This you cannot do by your own strength, it is by constantly renewal of your mind, receiving the love of God by the Holy Spirit. By this, you will be able to put to rest the work of the flesh. Bitterness grief the Holy Spirit and fracture the body of Christ which is the church.
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice.
Offences are the root cause of bitterness, if you are offended and you don't deal with it, bitterness will start taking root in you. Your sense of judgement becomes blurry because of offence. The most challenging thing about offence is, nobody agrees to it when confronted.
Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
To those who are defile, nothing is pure. Even when you genuinely want to help, support or say something, those whose conscience are defiled read another meaning. When root of bitterness sprouting within, it causes trouble and poison the hearts of many.
