1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. 

Justification is not earned by human efforts or good deeds, but is a gift received through faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 tells us that it through our faith in Him that we become justified. Salvation in Christ was not halfway done, He said on the cross, it is finished. Nothing to be added, only faith in Him is required. 

Romans 4:24-25  But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Jesus was delivered for our offences, he was made to be sin for us and through His death, burial and resurrection we become justified the moment we accept His propitiation, and confess Him as our Lord and Saviour, then we become justified from all things and made God's righteousness.

It is this understanding that make us live a life that is pleasing, not trying to earn His approval for salvation. However, now that we have received Him, we need to live for Him. Living for Him should be based on this knowledge that we cannot earn His love, because He loved us when we were even sinners.
