Luke 7:37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment. 

When it comes to grace, it is purely divine and has nothing to do with the works of the flesh. Our salvation is based on the finished work of Christ and nothing more. All we have to do is to receive everything done through His sufferings, crucifixion, burial and resurrection by faith. Even the very faith is an importation so no one can boast. 

Most time, we want to be right before we can serve, but the woman in the above scripture was said to be a sinner. She received her forgiveness after she was engaged in serving the Lord with what she had. Let me disrupt your thinking against religious bias, the ointment was an expensive one, where did she get the money to purchase such if not from her trade? 

Luke 7:39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

While religion seeks the sinfulness of the woman, grace sees the glory of God's divine deposits in her. This where the love of God blows the mind, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for the ungodly. No matter your current spiritual state, come to Him, without some or guilt, He sets sinners free.
