LIMITLESS IN MERCY

Deuteronomy 4:31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

A lot of people find it difficult to believe this simple truth that God is merciful to all. Though they know He is a merciful God, they feel and think most time that their mistakes is beyond what God can pardon and have mercy.

The reason people think like this is because they really do not know God nor understand His person. As powerful as God is, He does not act nor do things outside His word. So if you want to know God's mind towards you, it has to be by His word.

John 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Now when you fully comprehend this truth, it won't be difficult to understand God's mercy. Every writings in the Bible is centred around the word. In the old testament, it is about the prophesies about the word becoming flesh, written in types and shadows. But in the new testament, it is the revelation of the revealed word. The gospel is about the humanity of the word, revealing the true nature of God the Father's heart.

Let us see how Moses approached God in order to have a glimpse of His glory.

Exodus 34:5 6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

People don't read this scripture well, they make it look like the only thing God said here is about generational punishment. That God is always visiting the iniquity until forth generation, they always refuse to read the first parts that speaks about the goodness of God but the small part that speak about generational punishment.

But scripture says that He keeps mercy for a thousands generation. This is what David understood, he enjoyed unlimited blessings of God to the point that the bible talk about the sure mercies of David.

The Bloodline of a Victor

1 John 5:4-5 NKJV For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. [5] Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
