Galatians 5:4 For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.

It is amazing how many times people try to make truth look like a lie. It is in human nature after the fall to want to be seen to have earn anything they own. This is human nature and behavior, it is flesh at work. 

Man like to boast in their achievements, they will boast in their effort and what they did before success happen in their lives. They draw so much attention to their doing and render the power of God impotent to the hearer.

For example, fasting is good and I do, but it is not my fasting that will get the job done. I pray but it is not about my prayers but God that show mercy. I give but it is not about giving but the grace that flows. The work has been perfected before the foundation of the world. 

So what is expected of me to do? Only believe. 

Hebrews 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief.

Let every of your decisions be faith based. Your giving, fasting, prayers, tithing etc must be based on faith. Be persuaded from God's word and walk in obedience to His instructions. 

Fallen from grace means doing things outside of divine instructions. We stand on Grace when we stand in faith, meaning we have an instruction and are obedient to whatever He tells us to do.
