Romans 7:18 For I know that nothing good lives within the flesh of my fallen humanity. The longings to do what is right are within me, but will-power is not enough to accomplish it.

The law of sin and death was set in motion after Adam ate the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden. Satan will never provide you with full information of sin, he'll only show you it's glamour. Unfortunately, at the beginning it looks good but at the end, it produces death.

Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking Him (Jesus) up into an high mountain, shewed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

The devil is a scammer, he only only dangle things, he does not allow his victims to see the consequences of their actions. He show the glory of this world in a moment, it's like flashing the glamour of the world in a moment. What you see is the glamour and not the depth of it's corruption. By our senses we are drawn to that corruption through lust in the world, the way out is the life in the spirit.

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Your will power cannot stop it, only by submitting to the Spirit of grace and walking in obedience to His instructions. You can through the Spirit put to death the deeds of the body. That canal desire can be deadened, you can be free, only through the Spirit.
