Hebrews 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay asidef every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

There are sin that easily beset us, these are character flaws, we must lay them aside also. This kind of sin are not the ones you deliberately commit, it's an unconscious thing. You would have done it before regretting the same. They are thing that grow up with you that is now an autopilot behavior once there is trigger.

Romans 7:19 I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.

The truth is, the subconscious controls largely our behavior. This is the reason we need to hold unto our confession of faith to bring about our inward transformation. You must understand, that, your mouth has been made a pen of a ready writer. You will not see much changes unless you are speaking forth your desire from the word.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God's word bring the cure and transformative power to our inner behavior and change negative patterns. Things that are contrary to God's purposes for our lives are changed through this process. We can experience true deliverance inwardly when we engage God's word through meditation and confession of our faith. Some changes are not automatic, you must put God's word in your mouth.
