Psalms 67:5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

You are a holy nation, set apart unto God and to show forth the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. God is to be praised, the result of thanksgiving is massive. The opening scripture tells us that God will bless us when we do this. How does He bless us, He causes the earth to yield her increase unto us. 

Praising God infuses divine  intelligence into our heart. You cannot be thankful and operate as fools. When we are thankful, our perspective changes. Our focus turns away from ourselves and to the goodness of God and all He has done for us. Our hearts are stirred with joy. Our joy begins to overflow and the result is fruitfulness. 

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. 

David said "I will bless the LORD at all times".  Let's learn to always give thanks, that was the secret of David. The children of Israel never made it to the promise land because of murmuring. You see, you belong to God, so always thank Him for every little thing you see of Him, He'll manifest more of Himself.
