Daniel 9:2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.

Reading is part of the kingdom culture we all must embrace to get the best of what is available for us. There are men that God has sent ahead of us in any field we found ourselves. No matter the industry, as well as ministries, men have gone ahead and certain prophecies has been documented for us. 

Daniel had been praying, but his understanding open up reading the book of Jeremiah about their current situation and God's mind was revealed. Jeaus Himself had a custom of reading Torah, He had been in the wilderness praying, but at His return, He found where it was written in Isaiah concerning Him and His ministry.

You must understand that God is always ahead in all matter of our lives. Study to show yourself approved of God, you will not be put to shame.
