Hebrews 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

One of the things I have noticed about God is that, He love to prepare us for what He has ordained for us. For example, He promised the children of Israel to take them to the land flowing with milk and honey. However, He took them through the way of the Red Sea to show His mighty power. The purpose was to stir up their faith and worship. 

The reason for wilderness is to proof what was in them. The scripture says, the hardened their own heart, refusing to acknowledge the power and the goodness of God. They focus on their immediate needs without acknowledging that God has been good to them. Unbelief is a form of rebel against God. 

Deuteronomy 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear Him, and keep His commandments, and obey His voice, and ye shall serve (worship) Him, and cleave unto Him.

No matter what happens in the wilderness of your life, keep to God. Look into your life, you'll be amazed at His testimonies over the years. He has parted the Red Sea before, provided water turning bitter situation to sweet one. Check very well, at quarter to shame, He has come through before. He must have help you when there was need to clear school fees etc. The problem is, you are overwhelmed that you don't think about His goodness and worship.
