1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

You must have seen movies where a mother or a father labour so hard. The reason is so that their son or daughter might be able to go to school in anticipation of a better opportunity for him or her in life. While they denied themselves of better life, eating good, labouring etc, they are dying gradually, giving their life for their children. They might even go through some insults, molestation etc just for their son or daughter to have a better future.

The illustration does not capture the depth of what God accomplished through Christ death through the cross. While death was having it's free day in Christ, we were receiving life and glory through His suffering. This is what Apostle Paul was also saying of preaching Christ: 2 Corinthians 4:12
So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

He laid down His life for us that we might be redeemed from death both physical and eternal death. Now we have authority over death, we can recall people back to life and also when we are done here, eternal death has no power over us again, halleluyah.

Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
