Numbers 23:20 Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.

God's mercy is an expression of His love to us His children. When a man loves a woman, he lavishly spends on her. He will want to show her how much she cares by showering her with his wealth.

Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us.

God's riches is measure in mercy. And He always want to shower His beloved with it. Mercy is a game changer for those who understand it. David was a man who experience and enjoy God's mercy. We would look into this tomorrow. But now back to our opening text.

Balak had hired balam to curse the Israelites, however mercy intercepted him on the way to carrying it out. Look at what he says: "I have received a commandment to bless them". He could not curse them because of God's mercy. God told Balam and said to him that: “He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The Lord his God is with him, And the shout of a King is among them Numbers 23:21". These were a murmuring nation, this is Jacob the supplanter, but mercy has spoken.
