Jude 1:20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

One of the advantage of every believer is praying in the spirit, it is a better way of communication with the Father. Every nation has their language, and when you don't want foreigners to understand what you are saying, you switch to your national language. Switch to tongue and confused the enemy, they cannot comprehend your conversation with your heavenly Father. 

Many believers don't know what they are missing by not engaging praying in the spirit. This is the most powerful and the highest form of prayer. It is your most holy faith, while praying in the natural involves your senses, praying in the spirit does not, it is a direct conversation with the Father.

I Corinthians 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

You see, it is your direct line to God. Your mind does not interfere in your communication with Him, it is your greatest opportunity to speak with God. When you pray with your understanding, you need faith, but in the Spirit, you are already praying in faith.
