John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

One of the truth you must know is that God want to make known unto you, His plans and purposes. He benefits Him when you are fulfilling more than the earthly blessings you desires. On the other hand, Satan will do everything possible for you not to see, perceive, understand or walk in the eternal plans of God for your life. 

The reason the Holy Spirit is here is to help us walk the path of life fulfilling His purpose for our lives. He is more eager to make known to us His eternal plans. You must know and believe that God has your highest interest at heart even more than yourself. Learn to depend on Him, trust and follow His leading. 

In Psalms 23, the passion translation was beautifully scripted for our stability in following God's plans. "Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way. Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near."

Rest in His love, this will help you follow Him against all odds, knowing, that God is more eager to reveal His purposes and to see the same fulfilled through us than we are. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't depend on your own understanding.
