Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

The simplicity of the Gospel sometimes may make you doubt it's potency. For example, how can confession of your faith change the narrative of your life? How can you break the hold of addictions by simply declaring that "I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus?" The gospel is full of God's power. 

The oldest message in the bible is the gospel. I did a teaching on how God was the first to preach the gospel. There is no righteousness without the gospel, it is through the gospel that we get the revelation of God's righteousness that produces faith to faith. Nobody can stand before God the Father without being made righteous. 

Galatians 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.”

In fact, the first preaching of the Gospel was in Genesis chapter three immediately after the fall of man in Eden. The power of salvation and deliverance from any form of satanic hold is through the gospel. Faith is a product of the gospel, the reason you need to understand it. The gospel is not Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, it is deeper than that. The real revelation of God's power for your salvation is through the gospel.
