Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

As a child of God, you must constantly feed on the word for your spiritual establishment in the truth of the Gospel. Christ has made us free, stand firmly in this truth, the reason is that, the enemy will want to put the yoke of bondage on you again. This you must resist with all you've got. It can be yoke of religion, the yoke of poverty, sickness etc. 

I love the way the Passion Translation put it also:  "Let me be clear, the Anointed One has set us free — not partially, but completely and wonderfully free! We must always cherish this truth and stubbornly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past." Did you see that? Stubbornly refused to go back to the bondage of the past. 

Every word of God is full of power, you must be strong on them when revealed to you. Just as there is a gravitational pull, pulling everything down on earth, there is also environmental pull, that want to take you down. There are friends whose communication you must do away with, their words are like arrows. Don't allow anyone drag you down into their realms of unbelief, stand firm. 

Fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life. Paul was telling Timothy here to fight to hold on to. The fight is not to loose the consciousness of what you have in Christ and through Him. Stand strong and hold fast to every promises you have in Him, don't let go.
