Joshua 5:9 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day.

One of the most powerful truth you need to know when you step into a New Year is this, there is really nothing new about the year if there is no significant involvement of God in it. There must be the Lord said as you journey the year. God's word is our anchor, you can be sure that nothing will frustrate His plans for your life. 

The Lord introduce Himself to John as the Alpha and Omega in the book of Revelation. This implies that, as the Alpha, He is the starting point and the ending point. This mean that every New Beginning starts with Him. To have a new beginning, the announcement must come from Him.

He said to Joshua, this day "I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt". It means that people's perception of them would be different from that day forward. There won't be smell of slavery on them anymore. The truth is "when God speaks, everything hears".

As you go this week, hear the word of the Lord, there is something new that God is about to do in your life. This does not mean that you will stop what you have been doing, but doing it in a new and living way. For some, it will be a total paradigm shift. Whichever, trust Him with all your heart that His love for you is much more than what you can comprehend.
