PURPOSEFUL GIVING - Pt Two
II Timothy 2:6 The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. 7 Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
The premise upon which we give is love. The more we realized how much we are loved by God, the easier it is for us to give. But beyond this, you need to be intentional about your giving.
Most people don't plan their giving thereby frustrating their seed offering. Another thing is that, many don't expect their seed to bring harvest. Some plant their seed anyhow and expect great harvest. While others keep opening their seed on the ground after planting.
Let me point out another thing today, some are not expecting anything in return and as such manifest in the way they do it. Our opening scripture uses farmer to illustrate the process of planting and harvesting. If you plant, then expect harvest. Between sowing and reaping, it is what you do that determines your harvest.
Farmers don't just throw their seeds around, they are intentional, they clear the bush, make ridges where needed and plant their seeds. Beyond this, they constantly weed their farm and atiently wait for the harvest.
Don't just sow your seed, engage your mouth in declaring God's word around your seed. Declare that you are a giver and a receiver, your seed bring bountiful harvest, nothing is missing nor broken. Declare that you sow sparingly and therefore also reap sparingly. Declare that you are fruitful in everything because you give. Declare that because of what Christ has done, you don't just reap what you sow but the harvest of Christ.
Don't be causal about your giving thinking you are doing the preacher a favour or the church, be intentional and watchout.
Prayers
Give intentional today to a cause in your assembly or someone in need around you.

The Bloodline of a Victor
1 John 5:4-5 NKJV For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. [5] Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
