FREEDOM FROM SHAME - Pt One
Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Shame is a demonic force that lure people into different kind of negative activities. It is one of Satan's major instruments to lead people into bondage. In fact, the effect of sin is first seen in shame, the moment you remove shame, you can deal with the enemy call sin and satanic manipulation.
The scripture tells us to keep our focus on Jesus and check out His strategy for overcoming shame. The Bible says "He despise shame". What does it mean to despise something? It means to feel a strong dislike for someone or something because you think that that person or thing is bad or has no value. This means that shame has no value.
The question is, what shame did Jesus despise? The shame of going through the cross. As acclaimed Son of God who has performed different miracles, raised the dead, healed the sick and opened the blind eyes, how do you become subjected to this kind of ridiculous treatment even with the power to change the situations. He looked at the situation as worthless and nothing.
What is currently your shame, disgrace and things that make you feel ashamed? Look at that thing eyeball to eyeball and despise it. Count it as worthless and dare your fear of people's opinions of the same.
