I read the story of a sister in a church, she was believing God for a life partner. The Pastor was believing God along with her, praying that the right man would show up for her. Eventually, the Pastor's friend showed up who also was looking for a godly sister. By the time they reached out to this sister, she was pregnant for an unbeliever because she felt time was not on her side. 
The truth is, God's very best is ahead of you not behind. The moment I see someone try to rush at anything, especially a relationship, I tell them to wait. I said in church recently while ministering, "the bible didn't say pray and watch, it is watch and pray". People flip this over, praying before watching and the reason is, that watching is a process. That is, to watch takes time. 
We live in a generation where people want to see things without process. Anything that will stand the test of time will have to be process properly. Patience is not idleness, it is getting ready for the big day. Faith requires that you wait, this you will find all in Hebrews eleven. One virtue common to every one of them is patience.
