Daniel 9:2 In the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.

There are many things you won't understand about God's purpose and plans for your life without adequate and relevant studies. God is interested in you having the right kind of knowledge, without this, people can enter into captivity unknowingly.

A lot of people are praying blindly without understanding. Until you understand what you are dealing with, you may be beating about the bush on the matter of your life. Right knowledge put you on the vantage edge, this was the case of Daniel. It is the right word that are forcible and have great impact in prayers.

Daniel 9:3 Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.

Many are fasting and praying without the right knowledge. Daniel studied what Jeremiah wrote to gain understanding on their situation and to know what has been said by God ahead of time. Don't just rush into prayer on any matter, seek to know first. It is the people that do know their God that can do exploit, so seek to know.
