Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Covenant are very powerful especially the blood ones. When they are broken can cost the ones that breaks it their lives. Even though Abraham was long dead, God had to keep honouring the covenant between them towards the children of Israel. God had to take responsibility for the children of Israel not because of them, but because of their father's relationship with Him.

Jonathan and David had relationship together but it was the son that David remembered because of their oath. This is so important to know and to note as believers. As believers, we are not in covenant with God but the product of it. Just as children born in marriage are not in covenant relationship with their parents. The man and the woman in marriage are under marital oath but not their children, the parent are responsible to them not because of covenant of marriage but as a matter of obligation.

17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

We are not in covenant with God, we are simply children born out of covenant relationship of God and Abraham but fulfilled in Christ. So God is responsible for us and to us. In this new covenant, our sins has been wiped out forever, new heart is released unto us,  and no more remembrance of sins nor sacrifice for it forever.
